The reason the poster lost their best friend is probably because the poster is a shitty friend compared to her roommate - especially when she has to post filth like this online - yes it was fun to read anyway. The reason the roommate broke down was probably because the poster and her boyfriend were being complete dicks, when she had at first expected the boyfriend to be a halfway decent human being. The reason she talks behind the poster's back, is probably because the poster does shit that is just plain wrong, and the roommate needs to vent to keep from fucking blowing up, and it probably takes every ounce of her strength to be nice AT ALL to the bitchy poster. Of course, I wasn't there, but read it for yourself, and see if that sounds about right to you.
