Seriously, SHUT UP.

I hate my roommate because she’s lazy, stupid, and so annoying. This girl is always talking about what diet she’s on, how much money her precious gym membership cost, how she’s going to lose weight on whatever new plan she’s using. So she says she’s cutting carbs, then eats nothing but fried chicken or McDonald’s chicken nuggets? She seriously eats fast food for at least 60% of her meals. We live ON CAMPUS but she refuses to walk to class, becuase “it takes too long,” so she always drives the half-mile or so to her classrooms. Once we got out of a class at the same place at the same time, and I walked while she drove – guess what, I BEAT HER. Clearly that’s an intelligent use of her time & gas money.
Of course, she goes to the mall every other day, and is constantly shopping and buying mindless crap, like stuffed animals or figurines (by the way, she’s 23). She spends so much money, but she’s always complaining about how she’s here on almost $20,000 of private loans since she couldn’t get FAFSA loans – we go to a PUBLIC SCHOOL where tuition is $5,000 year! I know you’ve got to pay for housing, books, etc. too, but HONESTLY?
I’m younger than her but I’m ahead of her in credits; this is her first year at a four-year (it’s my third). So even though she’s 23 and a junior she still calls her mom every night (who lives HOURS away) to tell her she “made it home safe.” Seriously, this girl is convinced she’s going to get raped and murdered on her way back from class – and she DRIVES THERE!
Worst of all, she’s so academically lazy I can’t even stand it. She’s taking 13 units this semester, I’m taking 21 (technically you’re only allowed to go up to 18, but I got permission from my department). I couldn’t care less if she wanted to take a lower unit load, but all day she complains about how much work she has, how hard she’s working this semester, how she’s so fucking tired. SERIOUSLY? She’s taking fucking theater classes, too.
We just got a new roommate (we had an empty bedspace all semester) and now ALL she does is complain about her – how loud she is (she is quite loud), how much crap she brought (agree again, she did bring a lot of crap, especially considering we all move out in like two months), and how messy she is. This new girl is messy, but my roommate will point things out that are gross or dirty and complain about this girl to me – but it was my roommate who made the mess! How easily she forgets, I guess. “Ugh, look, she left her dirty pan on the stove again!” she’ll say to me. Yeah, but right next to it is YOUR dirty pot with leftover food in it from DAYS ago.
Honestly, if she would just shut up once in a while – she’s always, always talking to me, even when I don’t say anything in response, she just keeps talking: class, boys (she hasn’t had a boyfriend in years), people she doesn’t like (never people she DOES like), the new roommate, her family problems, her diet. If she would just shut up more often I could probably stand her.
