Dirty Hypocrite

My roommate is a dirty SLOB.
We share a two-bedroom apartment, which means we’re left to fend for ourselves; including cleaning and making our own food.

I’m a neat freak. I like a clean kitchen and a clean bathroom. If things get a little cluttered elsewhere, OKAY. I can deal. But my kitchen and bathroom must be spotless.

We’ve been living together for a grand total of four months (EIGHT MONTHS LEFT ON THE LEASE, OHHHHHHHHHHH.)

She is driving me NUTS. It’s like I’m the personal maid, and half the chores I’m not physically supposed to do, due to a medical condition. I do them anyways, because my roommate doesn’t do anything. I’ve tried telling her. I’ve tried freakin’ chore charts. So finally, after feeling like Cinderella of the modern age, I decided to not clean, and let the house turn into a pig sty.

The dishes piled up. The trash piled up. And finally, after an entire week and a half of this disgusting-ness, she cleaned it all up when I was at work.

Here’s the thing: my roommate NEVER rinses her dishes (sucks for me when I have to clean everything and THEN put it in the dishwasher). So today, after she cleaned house (miracles do happen), she was all proud of herself.

But here is where I snapped:

I happened to have just had a nice plate of Morningstar fake chicken nuggets with barbeque sauce. I finished them. I literally set down the plate, got up to get a glass of water, and before I can sit back down she goes, "Ummm. You’re forgetting something." to which I was truly confused, and replied, "Excuse me?"

"You didn’t take your plate to the sink. You need to rinse off the barbeque sauce. I don’t want our house to get disgusting again."

No shit, sherlock. But don’t tell ME to clean my dishes when I’ve been playing personal maid for the past four months.

UGHHH. TIRED OF ROOMMATE. It’s a relief to have found this site, considering she follows me on every social network platform available. Ranting is way too hard nowadays.
